Exactly as described, a quiet kettle when boiling. With my previous kettle it was difficult to hear the TV or radio when it was boiling.

Having had this model of kettle for quite a few years, and been delighted with it, the spring that flips the lid up finally failed. I used a different kettle for a while but then became aware of how I missed the “press of a button” to pop the lid open on the old kettle. I searched, found and purchased the identical model and am delighted again. It even seems quieter than the last one.One hand to hold the kettle and flip the lid open and one hand on the tap to fill it with water. I know it is only a kettle but when you use it several times every day, the little things matter.

I purchased this to replace the identical one i’d had for years, which was very quiet. This thing however, roars away, drowning all other noise. It really is not quiet!Mercifully, it’s quite fast.

Revised from previous review. Must have had faulty kettle. So far replacement is quieter & shut off works 🤞🏼

Quiet and quick to boil. Unfortunately developed a leak by the window on the side after 8 months, but can’t fault Russell Hobbs customer service as they sent a replacement within days during Christmas period. Would still recommend
