   ultra steam

   Ok so only 2 ironing sessions so far but I am almost looking forward to the next one. Easy to control – the steam button is under your finger and a light press. Let go and it stops after just a moment! The actual iron is light and easy to use and the steam power is immense cutting right through a thick pair of cotton trousers which only need ironing on 1 sideYes it’s early days yet and I havn’t got to the descaling yet but so far so great and compared to my ordinary but good iron this is much, much easier.

   So far so good

   Always bought Russel Hobbs before, but having had three generators thought I would give this one a try. Although you need distilled water (which pushes up the price) I managed to find 25 ltrs on amazon for £19.99 which should last forever. Nice looking and efficient, I only hope it lasts. Had trouble trying to unscrew the boiler, good job I found someone to do this for me. Instead of water would prefer conditioner as the boiler seems to attract scale quickly. But it is still a very good product.

   New experience

   I have been wary of spending a lot of money on these steam generator irons in case they did not live up to expectation. I had previously bought a steam press and found it a real hassle. My daughter in law has this model so I decided to try it out as she said it cut her ironing time in half. I did not believe her but it did! The iron is so light and the steam generated means I on,y iron one dude. I even ironed very difficult linen with ease.

   Best iron ever and I should know as I get through about 6 a year.

   It is great. I can iron for about an hour and a half before I need to refill the water tank. Everything now looks like my mother in law has ironed it ( her ironing is always pristine and crisp )I’ve just finished ironing 6 dryer loads of clothes and it took me just under 2 hours, it normally takes me a lot longer and my arm and hand don’t ache like they normally do.I love this iron it is going to make my life a lot easier.

   Great iron, reasonably priced

   This was so much cheaper than comparable steam-generating irons, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It is absolutely superb! Not only does it press well using steam, it’s a great (and lightweight) dry iron, something my previous steam iron wasn’t. I’ve used it to press cotton canvas loose covers, something that was impossible before, with good results. There are two small drawbacks: the red steam switch on the iron itself is on a bit of a hair trigger and is placed so that it is all too easy to generate bursts of unwanted steam; the ironing board cover becomes saturated by the steam during an ironing session.

   The peace maker

   Morphy Richards Power Steam Elite 42221 Pressurised Steam Generator with Ceramic Soleplate.I have nicknamed this the Peace Maker because when its time to do the ironing, I got no peace at all.Mrs W would be bashing away at the ironing board, swearing and shouting for a good few hours.Now all I hear are footsteps across the bedroom floor to the ensuite, when she is going to the tap for a water top up, and the gentle gurggling sound of the steam generator. Best present I have bought her for quite a while.
