I might be missing something here but I have a Dell laptop with a completely flat glass screen – the surround to the viewable area is flush. So I’ve fitted the tabs but there’s no space to run the filter between them and the screen, unlike a laptop where the screen sits deeper than the surround. Is it possible to bend the tabs out slightly once the glue has hardened to make this work? Otherwise this has been an expensive mistake! I’m a bit annoyed that it doesn’t warn about this on the listing if it is the case…
It has a wrinkle and it is uncomfortable when you work. if you have any light around it reflect it a lot, still good for a more private work, and glare is good

I got this for an Early 2011 MacBook Pro. The screen is 15″, but for some reason it doesn’t seem to be a standard size, and I had previously bought a 15.6″ filter, that was too short. Fortunately Hypertec were great at sending a replacement. For this model of Mac, I had to trim the top and sides every so slightly. This is easily done with a pair of scissors, to give it a perfect fit. There are either long or short tabs to hold it in place – I used both, long towards the bottom of the screen, and the short tabs to hold it close at top. I disagree with another reviewers who said tabs are cheap looking. I found them barely noticeable, and there has to be some way to keep the screen in place! As for the functionality of the screen, it’s perfect. The viewing angle is well restricted, you can easily see anything when sitting directly in front of it. The brightness of the screen is reduced slightly, but not so much that it’s a problem. In summary, a great product, which will see lots of use if you’re working in environments where you like a bit of privacy.

Bought this as a privacy filter either for my Macbook Pro 13.3″ or my Macbook Air 13.3″….with the tabs it can be transferred with ease.HOWEVER.This works great on the Pro, lovely gold sheen from either side and good vision through the centre. It does not work on the Air, there is an interference pattern on the screen like a lot of diagonal black bars across the screen when in use, making it unusable. I presume Apple have some form of polarising filter on the front of the Air screen to improve visibility, with which this filter is interfering. Will keep looking for a usable one.

Ordered to help my eyes from computer glare. The sticky attachment stickers are too fiddly and awkward – don’t stick well either – the sellers did send me a replacement sent but to be honest, these were just as bad. The filter is rested against the screen – no stickers! Its okay, seems to work ok alongside the brightness button of the desk top being turned down and helps ease things but not as good as I thought or would like.
I’ve seen others have these same screens for their work laptops, on the train. I could not see their screens at all when sitting beside them. Purchased for my own laptop. When working I can’t notice the filter, even with brightness on low.Yet people beside me can’t see my screen.Works great!WELL RECOMMENDED!have not tried GOLD VERSION

Given that it’s a privacy filter (planes, trains, coffee bars – you know the kind of thing) the “exclusion angle” is too high. You can still read it from 45 degrees off centre. Should be more like 10 degrees either side of the perpendicular. So, great idea, but it doesn’t work well enough. C”mon 3M – one of the largest companies on the planet and you can’t make light polarization work properly? Try a bit harder.
Very good at offering some semblance of privacy in an open plan office, but it only offers that from an angle and not from directly behind. The price however is extortionate for a piece of film, that said I purchased this for work and claimed it back on expenses, but it is very expensive for what it is…a thin sheet of plastic.

Works well to stop people being able to see your screen at quite a tight angle (I can’t comment on how good it is vs the usual black filter). It does however reduce the quality of your screen a fair bit, and you can see fine diagonal lines across it. It’s also very overpriced considering what it is. They also don’t seem to do a Surface Pro version of it like they do with the cheaper one.

An ideal accessory to keep you browsing discreet from your fellow workers but only from the sides. Over the shoulder is still permitted without exception. Choice of Gold or rotate for a Dark grey finish and an assortment of options for attaching to the computer. Can be left in place with the lid closed IF, you have been careful to chose the correct size for your screen. There are a lot of size combinations and it is a must to study that and you wont make an error and get a screen overlap or one that is too small.
Working in an environment where confidentiality is high, this screen is more than capable of the job. Not so keen on the ‘sticky strip’ attachment but it does everything I need it too. You can not see data on screen unless you are positioned directly in front of the screen.

Works as advertised, now I am able to work during flights and in coffee shops without prying eyes. Easy to fit using the supplied parts (I have a Lenovo 12.5 inch ThinkPad).
After trying other cheaper brands, well, this 3M product is worth every penny. One side helps to reduce glare (matte); the other makes the text look sharper and easier to read (gloss – iMac look). You choose.I placed small pieces of the double sided strips provided on corners to fix the screen. Privacy is perfect using either side. You need to make sure you have the correct length/width before ordering, though – do NOT trust the display overall diagonal measure! These screens are roughly as thick as an X-Ray plate; I do not know how they would work on a laptop, though.
