   Fantastic bang for the buck.

   Great value for money.I bought this to house 5 x 4tb hdd’s and attach to a raspberry pi using open media vault as a NAS server.Works fantastically, the speeds are right where I would expect and the build quality seems fairly decent for the price.Could it be better built? Yes, but it could also be 3 times the price!

   Sheer Quality

   As my desktop pc only has 1 usb3 port, every time I needed to connect a different external hard drive , it was time consuming. Now I have 5 hard drives connected all the time through 1 usb and it is silent and cool and reliable. Wish I had bought one years ago

   Works fine with mac os Ventura 13.6.4.

   This hard drive I have tested and works fine with 5x the same type of hard drive im currently running it with 3x 2TB Seagate’s at the moment will get two more laters however it functioning how i want it to be as a mass storage device. I will state this is the the 5 bay no raid version 3.1 usb device and it wont work with mixing type os drives either ETC 2x red nas it wont format them and 3TB green WD it wont even power it up. However the 3tb WD green is a dead drive anyway this was suspected faulty not a yottamaster issue. You proable could set up as a software raid system via mac though. In all its perfect

   Good device to re-use old drives.

   Bought this to build a JBOD array using some old-ish but perfectly OK low hours SATA disks. My primary use is to temporarily store video files for editing and movie making so my main requirement was to have as large a drive as possible. I used Windows Storage Spaces to create a Spanned Volume of 1.78 TB using a combo of 5 disks of various sizes. It mounts as a single drive and transfer speeds are great. I’m seeing write speeds of 90-100 MB/s average which is perfect for video editing. One word of caution. I just wanted to see if the device would support a Windows Storage Spaces RAID config just in case I ever needed and the results were not great. Copying files repeatedly failed so I think this device is best used as JBOD only. Really pleased. It’s a really useful video editing workflow device and a fantastic way to re-cycle old drives. Just don’t use a spanned array for anything you don’t have backed up somewhere else!

    Easy to Install, High Speed.

    This is a great drive box, High data transfer speeds, very quiet, could do with downloadable software to adjust sleep times etc, keeps your drive temperatures stable and cool while also acting as a miniature space heater.
