Upgraded from develo 1200 and they are literally twice as fast. Setting them up is more of a pain there is no longer a manual add facility using the code off the back of them you have to press the button on one then on the others. If you buy the WIFI ones TURN OFF YOUR MAIN WIFI, it conflicts with the MESH , the 1200’s did exactly the same thing and it degrades the WIFI massively. Our conservatory which is a mega long cable run used to get 30MB and now gets 60-80MB which is plugged into our sky box films now download twice as fast.If you DONT use the wifi version anywhere IE are LAN only > the app doesn’t work on IOS or Anroid > Only deverlop Cockpit desktop for PC or MAC> its been waiting for a firmware update from develo since September > appears it needs at least 1 wifi point for the management app to function on mobile device> seems they didn’t expect anyone to not want there “crappy” wifi > and it is crappy.I initially bought the wifi version but the “mesh” wasn’t very good, lots of signal loss , bad handover, no WIFI 6 / AX > so sent them back and bought the LAN version (which is brilliant) and then replaced my router with a Netgear RAX200 WIFI 6 router and hung another RAX200 Netgear WIFI 6 router (set in AP access point mode) off a LAN MAGIC 2 the other end of my house – Net result is rock solid Ethernet Everywhere I need it in the house and mad fast WIFI 6 AX covering the whole house. What I’d like to see for Magic 31- is a 1/2.5GB port on the ethernet LAN port and on the triple – as although the LAN triple can do 2400MB’s it can only do 1GB per port > with routers / Access points now supporting 2.5GB this would save me having run a cat 7 cable in my house to the secondary Access point – which defeats the object that Magic 2 is supposed to avoid2 – On the WIFI version Wifi 6 / AX with ideally triple band and 6 or 12 streams and work on the “mesh” handover between wifi points and automation around channels3 – more speed you can never have enough speed :)4 – A less flakey cockpit 5.1.3 it crashes lots on windows 10 , 5.1.2 runs fine > no idea why or the differenceSummary is LAN MAGIC 2 ones are brilliant , WIFI ones are “OK”. You’d probably be better of buying the 1200’s if you just want wifi as I couldn’t see any difference between magic and 1200’s but if you want rock solid LAN performance then Magic 2 is the way to go use your existing wifi and hang a “matching Access point / AP or router in running in AP mode” off the other end and you’ll get amazing matched mesh wifi (assuming your router and AP are decent)

Really pleased with this so far. It’s very low latency and has plenty of bandwidth to support both the WiFi and Ethernet traffic across the same backbone. My property has mostly old wiring, with a tiny bit of new wiring. I’m connecting between the far corners of the property on the same ring. It’s not a huge distance but the wiring probably still has a reasonable way to go.I’m getting something like 600mbps in each direction between the LAN node and the WiFi node. Bearing in mind the fastest available consumer internet is 350mbps, and typically less than 70mbps. So that means plenty of room to spare. If you play games you’re probably interested in the latency. From the computer plugged in by ethernet the far (WiFi) node, pinging directly to the (LAN) node sitting in front of the router, the average latency is 1-2ms.I’ve tried pinging with the network under load (200mbps traffic across the power line network) and saw no average increase in latency. The typical spike in ping during long running tests varied from time to time. Running 100 ping tests sequentially, often resulted in a max latency observed of around 4ms (still averaging 1ms), whilst other times there might have been some spikes in the region of 20ms max, but always maintaing an average of 2ms. So those spikes are very rare. This is really good, and for most people, perfect, and for a property with solid walls, blows the socks off of WiFi to the router which is almost impossible.Note, that to ensure the ping tests are reliable you should disable the power saving features on the units, otherwise the latency will fluctuate a lot if the network has no traffic. I also updated the firmware on both units.

Easy to set up and configure
Easy to set up and configure via phone app. Coverage seems better than the to-link device it replaced

Finally! Something that works
Firstly this was chosen by a tech geek friend as we had no idea what we’d need, we live in a flat with thick walls and 4 bedrooms, we have virgin as our supplier and a good few gaming kids, the wifi didnt go into any room previously but this has worked a treat, 8 kids all using phones, tablets, consoles you name it and its not disappointed, updates are installing flawlessly at a fantastic speed too! Would highly recommend this, we got the starter kit and its outdone itself! Well worth the price, easy to install (we found a video on youtube) and you still have the plug socket to use! BONUS!

Very easy to set up
I was a little Skeptical on whether this mesh would work on a UK electrical wiring. This item is popular in Europe but turned out just fine. Out of the box, it is not clear which item is the base and which is the extension until you carefully read the manual. However the App helps. The smaller item is actually the base unit and the taller item is the extender. The smart phone app is an essential component of the system, it allows to view defects if any and the strength of signal all round. Worth the purchase for the cost. The £15-20 wifi extenders are a waste of money

Great product and easy to use
This mesh network is a great way to extend your home wifi into anything from garden rooms to garages and to cover your house with good signal for the modern day needs of devices. The setup is very much plug and play as they call it when using the intuitive app and you can do it yourself even if you’re relatively short of knowledge in a technical sense. It offers a great solution and although it comes at a relative cost as a reliable future-proofed, long term solution this didn’t deter me and I’ve reliably been using the connection it provides for VPN’s etc without any disconnections.

Solved a problem we’ve had for years
The Devolo system worked much better than wireless mesh in our large and oddly shaped house. We’re getting close to 80% of the bandwidth to the router using 3 add-on adapters. The bandwidth is stable and we roam easily between the 3 zones of the adapters. We identified the best electrical circuits to connect over powerline by using the app signal strength data. We’re very happy with this system and recommend it to people who have large older houses where distance and concrete walls would block a wireless sytem.

Lightning fast
I bought these as the kids were leaving their gaming PC on all the time to download games. These units replaced some older powerline adaptors which were pulling about 5 mbps and a recent internet upgrade to Virgin cable made this snail-paced speed more obvious.Installation was so easy – just plug the units in (replacing the older units) and out of the box they were pulling the same speed as the router (over 200 mbps). The only slight issue is the ping is high (about 25 – 30 ms), but much quicker than the units these replace.Everyone is amazed by these! OK, so they are not the cheapest but are very quick.
