Basically ‘Plug ‘n’Play. Camera recognised as soon as plugged in. W10 + Huawei 14 notebook has a webcam in the keyboard but this model is designed to sit on top of the lid. Settings changed so that this camera is default.Update Dec 2021 – I have read quite a few 1* reviews, which frankly do not correllate with our experience here. This webcam DID work straght out of the box, has been used regularly since being acquired, performed to a good enough standard to be used in Zoom and Microsoft Teams calls. Quite understand that the video resolution is an ‘interpretation’, quite common with similar products, e.g. Dashcams, that all tend to originate from China. What do you expect from a £25 camera? Other positive reviewers have posted comparative omages which show a peformance at least as good as the pc webcam where fitted. These built in devices tend to be low resolution – 0.3 to 0.8mpx, nowhere near as good as even the most basic smartphones. People seem to be comparing apples with oranges…

Bought as was looking for a mid range/low price webcam that would give me more flexibility than the camera in my laptop.The picture quality is much superior to the camera built into my laptop, and sound quality is high.The camera has a very wide angle, surprisingly so. Therefore it would be perfect for group meetings, for work it could include yourself and a map/diagram, or socially a group of people on a call together – very impressed with it.The clip is sturdy and it was easy to attach to the top of a monitor/shelf.The camera rotates on all axis well.There is a screw in the bottom for a stand (a small stand is provided) and I found that I could screw in a flexible tripod from a small handheld camera and attach the camera to almost anything.

I bought this webcam because my laptop webcam stopped working. TBH, I didn’t expect this webcam could be of great quality considering the low price. but when I attached it onto my computer, it just wowed me a bit. It works extremely well in a relatively low light setting. It just brights up the picture and I feel much better when I do Zoom meeting with colleagues. I think it softens and beautifies the skin tone as well. The picture definition is really clear and fine. Another good thing is its wide angle lens. it can take in a lot of background, not just your head. Another clever thing I like is how this webcam is attached to your laptop. because it’s very light, so you can just slightly “hang” it onto your laptop steadily. （see the video） You can easily adjust the angle of the webcam, very clever design. it fits in my 17-inch laptop well and I think it will fit in many other laptops or desktops. There is a small tripod with the camera but I don’t think I need it. All in all, it’s a good value purchase. The seller will give me some incentives to view this product, but even without it I still would rate it as 5 star.

Far better video quality than the integrated HD camera in my laptop lid. No set-up problems, just plug into a USB port and it works. Sound quality tends to be a bit bass. On video calls others said it sounded a bit “muffled and boomy”. No problems; I use it for video input and set the audio input to the laptops own microphone.If you also install video software that allows you to set the degree of Zoom or has face-detection, then it’s brilliant for video calls. Its QHD 2k, wide-angle, view can be zoomed or do face-detection-following, without any perceivable loss of resolution.The impressive video quality far outweighs my reservations about the audio. For me it was a great buy.
