A compact and colourful external HD
It sits attached to my iMac by USB, backing up continuously. in two parts: all my various files in one and all my 7,000 photos in the other one. I have not yet taken it out to plug it into my lMacBook Air and look at how the backed up files are organised, and attempt to amend them. This is a hurdle too many to jump as I am not very technical!

LaCie USB Rugged Mini Hard Disk
The LaCie Rugged Mini USB 1TB Hard Drive is exactly as I anticipated. It is solid and sturdy and portable and provides an easy to use drive that I am able to take with me when I take photos and create a back up copy for just in case. I am able to use it for all my photos and can easily use it to show photos to others and provide copies using their computer. It is weather proof and easily fits in my camera bag. It has become part of my standard camera kit. What makes this different from other hard drives is its portability in all weather conditions and its resistance to knocks. Worth the extra cost for the extra peace of mind that its solid build gives you.

The best product!
The best product. Of course it won’t last a lifetime and eventually these devices can fail after a long period of time (I’d say 2 years for my previous Rugged Mini), just treat it with care. Be sure to also backup your work to a cloud based service in addition to saving your work on hard drives. Above all, rugged and sturdy! Thank you!

I want more of them
Too expensive. It’s the best I ever owned: fastest, smallest, rugged – definitely durable – wouldn’t allow to drop it though not even for testing.. – recovery promise is also encouraging – hope to never need one. Would definitely buy again, in fact I am keep looking at the prices when will drop again, as definitely will buy one or even two more – maybe bigger than 1 TB.
