I have previously owned much smaller and cheaper shredders that constantly jam and are far too noisy making them unpleasant to use. Since lockdown started I have been doing much more work from home and due to the workload it was imperative that I got a more reliable shredder to cope. Smaller shredders are slow due to having to restrict the number of pages and easily overheat. The Fellowes LX201 is far superior, pleasant to look at, quiet , movable and easy to use.This shredder is the real deal, the IntelliBar provides indicates when bin and sheet capacity is nearing the limit and cuts out if someones hand is dangerously close as well as if the door is not fully closed. Very fast performance due to allowing 12 sheets of A4 to be shredded at a time.A very professional piece of kit that performs.

I received a white LX201 paper shredder instead of a black LX211, but it suits us very well as it is very slightly smaller. I have decided to keep it rather than request a replacement LX211.Very pleased with the ease of use and the good sized bin.Compared to the old Fellowes shredder this new one is much quieter. The wheels are a good plus as they make it easier to move the shredder from under the desk.The IntelliBAR is helpful and not just a flashy gimmick.

This is a large machine, bigger even than our existing full size shredder, and also considerably more expensive. But then it also more powerful, quieter and faster, and can handle a lot more work. It is easy to use and so far it is proving reliable, as one would expect for a machine from a company with a good name and a long history.It is quite heavy, but it does have wheels making it fairly easy to move and so could easily slide in and out under a desk for example.

I bought this Fellowes LX211 shredder to replace a smaller, elderly unit that was coming to the end of its days. I needed something that would handle light to medium quantities of shredding in a home office environment so something that did not look too ‘industrial’ was important. Fellowes is about the only company making its shredders in white which was one of the considerations in making my choice. I have now had the shredder for just over a week and, so far, it is all that I hoped for. Quieter in use than I expected, it chomps through A4 sheets with gusto and produces very small pieces – no way could these be reconstructed so sensitive material is disposed of securely. My only comment is that there could be a better way of attaching the plastic bags. They just sit rather loosely in the hopper and paper shreds routinely drop outside the bag. Maybe I haven’t quite got the knack of fitting it and it is only a minor niggle. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.
