Manygoniometric measurements require one arm of the goniometer to be positioned either horizontally or vertically. The other arm is then lined-up with the patient’s body part. Until now, the practioner had to ässume” or “eyeball” the vertical or horizontal position. This interpolation is often incorrect and introduces measurement error.

The Absolute+Axis (AA) goniometer removes the “assume” and “eyeball” by establishing a “true” vertical or horizontal. The Absolute+Axis removes measurement variability and allows the practioner to concentrate on correct placement of the other goniometer arm and the patient’s body position.

The arms stay in place while measuring.

it doesn’t rotate 360 degrees so i have to use it up side down/the other way around to measure my patient’s joint if patient is in bed

Difficult to read upside down

Must only turn it certain ways and the inability to flip upside down and read it limits 50% of angles
